Practical Innovation Events

Practical innovation is the theme of a series of events to be held in Oxfordshire and sponsored by Oxfordshire Business First and Bicester Vision.

The events will feature a range of guest speakers who have each been involved in developing and implementing innovation projects across a wide variety of organisations. All the events will be free of charge and will be hosted by different organisations across the county.

According to Oxfordshire Business First chairman, Frank Nigriello, innovation is regarded as one of the essential factors in enabling business success in the difficult economic climate.

“Nearly every business person I talk to is focussed on winning additional business, reducing costs and finding new ways to engage customers. While many people know what they want to achieve, information on driving innovation can often be theoretical or difficult to apply.”

“We’ve brought together a group of speakers who have led successful innovation projects and who can share the practical experience of understanding how to get real commercial benefit from innovation projects.”

Speakers will each present a 20 minute ‘thought starter’ presentation which will be followed by an interactive session with the audience. Each event will last for around 90 minutes. The aim is to capture valuable insights, experience and practical guidance from the speakers and the audience.

The first event kicks off at the Said Business School on 23 February starting at 18.30-20.00 and will include presentations from Stuart Miller, CEO of Bybox Ltd and Tony Hart, Associate Fellow at Said Business School and former head of Oxfordshire’s Innovation and Growth Team.

Attendance is free of charge but attendees must pre-register by booking through the website or contacting Denise Moffatt at denise_moffatt@unipart.co.uk or on 01865 384232 by no later than February 18.
